Maid of Honor
Bridesmaid
We first crossed paths Freshman year at Dillard High. Candice was known for her hugs. Always smiling, laughing, showing love to everyone she knew in every way possible. This happy-go-lucky orchestra girl with glasses was a warm presence to me, since I was a chill theater girl usually found being preoccupied in her own little bubble. It wasn’t a surprise to know she was getting wifed up. Through the years, we've seen each other grow spiritually & mentally into the women we are today. We’ve grown closer & are there for each other always. From college to seeing family dynamics change, from career pursuits to self sufficiency. It’s truly an honor to witness this union. To know Candice is a joy, yet alone being in love with her. I know she will make a wonderful & happy wife to Gerald.

I actually met Candice through Shanice! The very first time I met Candice, I came over to their house to hang out with Shanice and Candice joined us! We immediately began playing and singing around the piano in their front room. It was like I had known Candice for years before. There's a song they both sang to me that she wrote that I still hum around the house today. From there, we sang in FSU's gospel choir together, traveled from Tallahassee to Nashville, to Mexico and so many places in between. I've seen her passion for music in action and her love for Gerald grow and grow. Our friendship grew instantly but the foundation is solid and continues to strengthen. I'm incredible honored to be a part of her special day but even more so, a part of her special lifetime partnership with Gerald.

I first met Candice in 2011 in Cawthon Hall at FSU. Since we lived two doors down from each other, Candice knocked on my door (without us knowing each other) in search of cough drops. I just happened to have some & I said "hey, aren't we in the same math class together at 8am?" to which she responded "yes!" From there on, we walked together to our very first class freshman year at 8 am every week. As music majors, we took most of the same classes together & roomed together for a summer. Candice & I continued to live 2 doors down from each other in Tallahassee. Candice has always been there from my first semester of college to my career in teaching. She is the absolute best friend a girl could ask for & I'm so excited to be by her side & see her start this new chapter with Gerald!

Candice and I met in 3rd grade at Bethune Elementary and it’s been an exciting journey since. We both were in Orchestra together till 12th grade and shared many memories. Candice is a radiant soul and has honestly help me grow as a person. Even though I can get on her last nerves, she’s always been true light in life. I’m happy for her joining union with Gerald and I pray God continues to lighten their path. Excited for your future and what God hasn’t in store for you both.

Piper and Candice met in the dorms during their first year of college at FSU. About halfway through the year, Candice moved into the adjoining dorm room — and Piper and Candice hit it off immediately! Both lovers of music, Candice’s beautiful violin playing next door (I would always hear her practicing!) and her upbeat, infectious energy immediately connected us. Although we stayed connected throughout our school years, our friendship became closer than ever after college, as we both worked hard in our “adult” jobs in Tallahassee and found solace in navigating life, love, and ambitious dreams together. We call each other soulmates because we are constantly amazed by our similar outlook and approach to life. Piper can’t wait to be by Candice’s side as she walks down the aisle!
Bridesmaid
I have known Candice since I was eight years old. We've shared so many good, bad, sad, happy moments & memories together. Through all those moments together I would not change any of them for the world because those were the moments that shaped & created our bond. Growing up with Candice has made her more of a sister than a friend. She has taught me how to have confidence & not be afraid to be myself no matter what anyone says. She has shown me attributes of being a good & loyal friend that can admit they made a mistake & take responsibility. From her incomparable upbeat & outgoing personality to her infectious laughter, I couldn’t ask for a better friend. Candice Richards has been a true inspiration & blessing to my life & I am grateful to be able to call her my sister/friend.

Candice & I met in 4th grade at Bethune Elementary School. We would walk home from the bus stop together & once we reached her house I would stay there & hang out for hours. Our friendship grew & she became my best friend. I started attending her family's church & soon accepted Jesus Christ into my heart & was baptized by her father. Her family became a second family to me. It's no coincidence that we share the same last name, Richards! Through the laughter, tears & prayers we've shared over the years, I've always known meeting Candice was a divine connection from God. Even through distance, God has graced us with 16 years of friendship! I've seen her bloom through the toughest trials, into a beautiful & strong woman of God. In her, I've found a friend and beloved sister for life!

Candice & I met through my cousin Kristal. Pastor Richards was good friends with our family and he wanted his daughter to have some good company in Tallahassee. Although she & I were colleagues in the College of Music together, we were family outside. We've supported one another through some of the darkest times and encouraged one another while rising. It's hard to find friends who are loyal, understanding, compassionate, transparent, & forgiving - like Candice! When you find them, you hold on to them & never let go! Our friendship has stayed rich with laughter, prayer, tears and hope. Not only is she a joy to be around, is also a light to many. I love her passion & servant hood for others. She & Gerald make quite the team together & I can't wait to see all that God has in store for them!

Gerald & I met in February 2014 on a gig with our former piano professor Bill Peterson. Gerald was in his 2nd semester of grad school & I hadn't started until the fall of 2014. During that time, Gerald & I became instant friends & we started a Neo-soul jazz group called "Jazz Copeland". When I began school in the fall, we played ALL THE TIME together. We became really close friends & played around town in various groups including our own. After he graduated in 2015, we continued to play together until he moved to New Orleans. We always stayed in contact & when I decided to record my first album "Bass'd on a True Story" I had to get Gerald to play on my record. I met Candice through Gerald & we all became a click in Tally. They started dating & it was all love from that point on.

Gerald & I met the 1st day of 9th grade in Mrs. Bryant’s English class. He, Adam &I became best friends & spent most of our high school years together. We were like family. Some of my fondest high school memories were spent with them, cutting school & driving to the Virginia Beach Oceanfront & all our misadventures from Prom. Despite attending different colleges, our friendship continued. Although I was 100 miles away, I spent every summer crashing in dorms at Norfolk State with Gerald, Adam & their band mates. When Gerald said he wanted to visit a school in Manhattan, we bought last minute Megabus tickets from Norfolk to NYC & spent 72 hours lost in the city with no lodging. We had some much fun. We eventually made it back to Norfolk tired & dirty with a lifetime of memories & stories.
