Question

Join us in song for our first toast as Mr & Mrs Barrow by learning Helan Går!

Answer

If you have ever joined us at any of our gatherings, you know we love a good toast & a song! For many holidays we sing Helen Går & you especially sing it for Midsommar! We want everyone to try their best in learning this Swedish drinking song, so that we can all sing together as our first of many toasts as Mr & Mrs Barrow! Original Swedish Text: Helan går ("he-lan går") Sjung hopp faderallan lallan lej Helan går Sjung hopp faderallan lej Och den som inte helan tar* Han heller inte halvan får Helan går [drink] Sjung hopp faderallan lej! Phonetic Version: Hey-lan gore Hung hop father lala lala lay Hey-lan gore Hung hop father lala lay Oh then some in the hey-lan tar Han hell eh in the hall van fore Hey-lan goooooore [drink] Hung hop father lala laaaay https://youtu.be/XazSv_cbuwE?si=wClzCS6DHF8-QLwG

Question

Can I bring a guest?

Answer

We want our day to be full of love & beautiful moments with the people who know us. We are not allowing any additional guests outside of who the invitation was addressed to.

Question

Best way to get to your wedding?

Answer

We love driving as the true midwesterners we are. It’s nice to have our own car & its not too far from KC. There isn’t public transportation in town, so a car is ideal & there is ride share programs such as Uber or Lyft. However, they aren’t always reliable. Flying is short & sweet. The MKE airport is super easy to get in & out of. We book with Southwest & they have direct flights in.

Question

How long should I plan on staying in Lake Geneva?

Answer

If you receive a rehearsal dinner invite, we would suggest arriving on Wednesday to get settled in. If you didn’t, Thursday is a perfect day to arrive. Our rehearsal dinner is Thursday night. Our wedding is Friday! Saturday we will be having a gathering of delicious party foods & drinks to enjoy lake side. So if you can, stay Saturday & leave Sunday.

Question

How should I dress for the rehearsal dinner?

Answer

The dress code is Summer Dressy Casual. For the gals, summer dresses or nice trousers with a blouse or nicer top. For the guys, nice pants, nice summer button up or polo. No jeans. It will most likely be sunny during the day & cool at night, so bring a layer for the evening!

Question

How should I dress for the wedding?

Answer

The dress code is Summer Cocktail. Our vibe is Midsommar, which is the Swedish celebration of Summer! For the gals, knee-length dresses, midi dresses, maxi dresses, jumpsuits, nicer separates. Think elegant, flowy, floral & bright! For the guys, summer breathable nice shirts, tailored chinos or slacks, sports jackets, summer style suit, or loafers. For the kiddos, something cute & comfie. Nicer but not over the top. Statement jewelry, summer purses, summery shoes, plus some cute sunglasses! You will want to consider wearing a heel or shoe that will be fit to be on a grass, as our ceremony is on the lake side lawn & our reception is on the front lawn. The ceremony will be outside facing the beautiful lake. The reception will be under a a big sail cloth tent. Historically this part of the year in Lake Geneva, is warm & sunny during the day, cooler at night! We always suggest layers!
