Varun is one of Phil's first friends when they met at age 4. Together they figured out cub scouts, grade school, and adult life. He and his wife Pooja's love story inspired Phil to seek out a similar kind of love in Candice.

Suvo and Phil grew up living down the street from each other, starting in 3rd grade. Their relationship began around Nintendo 64, continued through burger adventures in our 20s, and Sci-Fi and superhero movies.

Andrew and Phil have been friends since being on the same 2nd grade soccer team. Andrew has always been a kind person in Phil's life, whether it's sending seltzer from 3000 miles away or giving Phil a place to stay while he pursued non-profit work after college.

Chris and Phil first met at Sunday school after realizing that there were other Filipinos in the class. They became close especially while Phil was in graduate school where Chris would host Ledger game nights and barbecues.

Jon and Phil first met while attending Filipino family parties when they were in 4th grade. Jon and Phil bonded while in their local annual Filipino Cultural Camp, figuring out Filipino-American identity through camp, college, and beyond.

Dillon and Phil met while in middle school. Dillon is an energetic and friendly man who will throw high kicks when he's excited. They became close when Dillon began his amateur MMA journey with Phil as his cardio coach and training partner.

John and Phil first met when they were in homeroom together in 8th grade. John and Phil continued being through college, rooming together sophomore year. John brings our group together through fantasy leagues and basketball.

Peggy is Candice's sister in love, friend, and Legal Rights Boss. Their friendship is filled with moments of laughter, growth, and trying to figure out how to convince their partners Rob and Phil to live in the same city. Lol. From chatting until 7 in the morning swapping life stories to the Beyonce Renaissance experience, Candice is so grateful for Peggy's sun-filled presence in her life.

Stacy and Candice met at a Bay Area women's Bible Study group and became roommates, living together in the Bay Area for 4 years (Denna joined our household after our first year). Stacy's grace and wisdom that us beyond her years fill any room she walks in. Candice owes her love of tea, K-Dramas, and Asian face masks to living with Stacy. Candice was looking for a roommate and discovered a sisterhood.

From their First Friday Oakland adventures to visits to Sonja's Memphis mansion, their sisterhood bloomed throughout the years in spite of not living in the same city for over a decade

Darrell is like Candice's second brother who fills the friendship with laughter and reality checks as needed. Lol. Candice gained a brother, even with Sean living distantly in China for over a decade.

Desiree and Candice met through Desiree's now husband, Malcolm, at their undergrad Washington University in St. Louis. Their mutual values around friendship and faith brought them together in a bond that has traveled through their different life seasons. Candice has admired Desiree's intelligence, wise spirit, and family life over the years. Outside of college reunions, they make space for each other like conquering the Essence Festival or visiting the Foley family in Waco, TX.

Cheyenne and Candice have been friends since their freshman year of college and became roommates for the last 2 years. Cheyenne is always cool, calm, and collected even when Candice overplayed Beyonce's hit album "4" with Party, Love on Top, and Run the World (Girls) to name a few. They maintained their sisterhood with trips to LA during Candice's Bay Area adventures including Thanksgiving celebrations as Candice escaped the Chicago winters when she could.
