Jaclyn and Michael met the modern way, post-Covid by swiping right! Their first date was one to remember! Jaclyn was supposed to pick her friends up for a night out and text them and said she would meet them there. Little did they know Michael was at her house. When Jaclyn and Michael got to Berkshire Hills, they went their separate ways. Jaclyn’s friends said “you’ll bring us home right?” Jaclyn’s smirk let them know she was up to something and she said “see that guy sitting over there, well he brought me, I’ll text him to see if he can bring you home”. And that is where the 101 questions started! The night went on and Jaclyn’s friends met Michael and the chemistry built. But, on the way home Michael’s truck started to break down. After having to stop and turn the truck off a few times, they finally made it to Jaclyn’s house. It was the next afternoon Jaclyn received a text from Michael asking if he could see her again that Jaclyn knew this is the man she would marry. It only took Michael 1,189 days to propose! Who was counting?! Michael took Jaclyn out of her comfort zone and got her back into skiing and that’s when their adventures began. They’ve traveled to Colorado twice, Utah, Vermont and ski in their back yard at Jiminy Peak and Bousquet. They also spend many of their summers floating on the boat or at the beaches of Newport, Old Orchard Beach, Salisbury Beach, and Outer Banks where he popped the question! And how did he propose! It was Thursday evening and family photos were being taken at sunset. Jaclyn in a white dress that Michael suggested. Pictures concluded and there was no proposal. In typical Jaclyn fashion, she walked fast off the beach to cook dinner, only to spill red sauce on her white dress, and the tears started. Wiping the tears away, Jaclyn enjoyed dinner and escaped to call her mom. In true mom fashion she said “get on the next flight outta there, I’ll pick you up.” Well the nearest airport was 2.5 hours away! Fast forward to the next morning, our last morning there, we decided we’d go to sunrise. Still upset, Jaclyn was going with or without Michael and didn’t talk to him all on the way to the beach and was biting her fingernails. Michael knew he had Jaclyn caught off guard. Usually Michael will tell Jaclyn to stop biting her nails, but this time he didn’t. It was at about 6:30 AM, Jaclyn was about to say “well the suns not coming up, let’s go home” but before she could say that Michael’s mother came over and asked if we wanted a picture. At that moment, Michael said “say last picture as boyfriend/girlfriend.” The words out of Jaclyn’s mouth were “don’t be joking with me,” as she turned he was FINALLY on his knee! After Jaclyn realized he wasn't kidding, she said "YES!" Cue the tears!
