Not too hot, not too cold… all you need is a light jacket. The line comes from *Miss Congeniality*, and yes, we are aware it technically belongs to April 23rd. We’ve simply chosen to exercise our editorial control and move it to where it truly belongs. Our story started back in medical school in Philadelphia—same city, different schools, and just enough overlap for our paths to cross at the right time. What began as meeting in passing eventually turned into something that stuck, even as life started pulling us in different directions. After matching into residency, that distance became real in a new way. Garrett in anesthesia in St. Louis, Tori in OB/GYN in Baltimore, and suddenly “seeing each other” meant airports, schedules, post-call sleep deprivation, and carefully planned weekends. Long distance residency isn’t exactly what we pictured—but it’s shaped us in all the right ways. Through it all, our relationship has been about balance. Different schedules, different personalities, different cities—but always learning how to meet in the middle. How to compromise, how to communicate, and how to build something steady even when life is anything but. What started as a connection in Philadelphia has grown into something grounded, supportive, and full of laughter. We’ve learned how to make the most of the in-between moments, and how to show up for each other no matter the distance. So April 24th felt like the perfect fit: simple, meaningful, and just the right temperature. We can’t wait to celebrate with all of you
