The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden
If you’re in town a little early or staying a bit longer, this is such a peaceful spot to visit, especially in October when the pumpkins take over! It’s a beautiful place to walk around and soak in some fall magic.
JFK Assassination Tour
For our history buffs, this tour is super interesting and gives you a glimpse into a major moment in American history. It’s definitely one of those “only in Dallas” things to do.
Dallas Museum of Art
If you’re looking to beat the heat (or the rare October rain), the DMA is such a cool and relaxing way to spend a few hours. Bonus: general admission is free!
George H.W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum
Even if you’re not a museum person, this one is worth it. You can walk through a replica of the Oval Office and see some incredible pieces of recent history.
Cowboys Golf Club
Bringing your clubs? This course is a dream for any golf lover and yes, it’s actually themed after the Dallas Cowboys!
NorthPark Center
Not your average mall. This place has amazing shops and surprisingly impressive art displays throughout. Great for a little shopping or even just walking around with a coffee in hand.
Fort Worth Stockyards
If you’re up for a mini road trip (about 45 minutes), this is such a fun spot! Think cowboy hats, live music, longhorns in the street… it’s pure Texas and a blast for all ages.
Katy Trail Ice House
Grab a drink and kick back on the patio at one of our favorite Dallas hangout spots. It’s casual, fun, and a great place to meet up with other wedding guests if you’re out and about!

Texas BBQ is a must, and Terry Black’s is the real deal. Go hungry and prepare to fall in love with brisket, mac & cheese, and all the smoky goodness.
