The epicenter of the "Keep Austin Weird" movement. A few-minute drive from the venue area, South Congress is a great and lively place to check out local shops, eateries, and fun activities! We recommend grabbing some caffeine at Joe's coffee, a slice at Homeslice Pizza, or a roll of the best sushi around at Neighborhood Sushi. Saturday mornings and afternoons they also have a local fair that set up booths along the road.
There's a little bit of everything here. Walk around and enjoy what you find. Voodoo donuts on east 6th street is obviously a must if you've never been
Watch as 1.5 million bats pepper the sky in their nightly departure from Congress Bridge in their relentless and appreciated pursuit to rid us of mosquitoes.
A uniquely Austin activity that usually takes about an hour. Enjoy a tour for only $20 per person
Basically anything you want to do on a lake you can do here. Paddleboard, rent a bike or just walk and enjoy the scenery.
Best coffee in town, hands down. Insta-worthy photo wall on the side of the building in their south congress location - "I love you so much". If you're into that. Their downtown location has seriously good food (located on 2nd street).
BEST sushi in/around Austin.
seriously good pizza.
Nostalgia candy up the wazoo. And lots of saltwater taffy.
Wood Fire Italian. A bit pricey - but worth every cent.
