I wouldn't call it a costume. I'd say you are "participating in an immersive experience." So, yes. You must wear something that fits the medieval/renaissance theme. A cloak. A sword. A circlet. Although full regalia is preferred.
The primary colors are maroon/burgandy and gold. See the Gallery for the color palette. Since this is a very nontraditional celebration and the bride is not wearing white, you are welcome to wear white.
This is an adult-only celebration. Please do not bring children.
Venue space is limited and weddings are expensive. Please only bring a "plus one" if your RSVP link indicates it. Most people will have the name of their plus one listed on their RSVP. When in doubt, ask.
The day-after brunch is absolutely open to everyone and will be held at the beautiful former Green Book site, The Historic Magnolia House in Greensboro. Please let us know in advance if you plan to attend the brunch so we can let the venue know how many to expect. There will also be a special New Orlean's wedding tradition that will take place during brunch. You won't want to miss it!
The castle is located in a rural area. However, ridesharing services will take you there. For everyone staying in the event hotel (Hyatt Place Greensboro - Stanley Rd), we will be arranging transportation from the hotel to the venue and back to the hotel at the end of the night. Anyone is welcome to ride the shuttle, even if you choose to stay at another hotel. However, you will be responsible for getting yourself to the event hotel in order to catch the shuttle.
You will be responsible for getting yourself to and from The Historic Magnolia House on Sunday for brunch. It is a 15 minute drive.
Unfortunately, Hyatt Place Greensboro (Stanley Rd) does not offer shuttle service from the airport. However, it will be very easy to get a Lyft/Uber/Taxi from the airport, which is about 15 minutes from the event hotel.
