We met in 2008 through mutual friends & quickly developed an undeniable connection with each other. [though, we both denied it] A few years later, Chad joined the Marine Corps & Candace moved back to the coast taking us in different directions entirely. Life wouldn't have us separated for long - about five years later, we were reunited by happenstance. The rest is history!
Chad is a romantic - special occasions & memories are his thing. So, naturally, he took me back to the first place he told me he loved me. We walked down to the quaint gazebo on the waterfront in Manteo, NC as we usually did each time we'd visit. He tricked me into looking at a broken down boat in the water. When I couldn't find it, I turned around for direction & he was on his knee. He nervously said "Candace, will you be my wife?" to which I replied "you're lying. Are you serious?! Yes, yes, of course!" We laughed & cried. We'd take a few steps & stop again just to soak it all in. This time we left the gazebo differently than we had before. We walked away engaged.
