Canaan and Savannah met for the first time in the summer of 2011. They were 17 years old, on a blind date, at the renaissance faire. Canaan ended the date with an awkward high-five/handshake combination that still haunts him to this day. They exchanged phone numbers, and subsequently spent all day and night sending thousands of texts like teenagers do. (Using real buttons! Texting took forever! Anyone remember T9? Anyway…) Then came homecoming. And prom. And college. A dog and a wonderful life together. Canaan and Savannah never stopped growing in their love. It began as youthful infatuation, and honestly, it stayed that way! When you grow through every stage of life with your best friend by your side, love becomes something all-encompassing. Sometimes it’s as routine as taking the chicken breast out of the freezer to thaw before Savannah gets home. Or buying Canaan new socks every year because he refuses to replace the ones with holes. Or taking a moment to tell your person that you love them and appreciate the life you’ve created together. It’s the smallest moments in the chaos of life that say, “I’m here with you.” Many of you have been there with us from the very beginning and we are so thrilled to have you by our sides on the most special day of our lives!
