How We Met

#Shakeilicious

There was a weekend filled with birthdays for the Gemini's in Shavaun and Natasha's life. The two brides attended the same party on a Friday night, however, Shavaun left early due to a wardrobe malfunction. Shavaun saw Natasha but Natasha didn't have a chance to lay her eyes on her future bride yet. The next morning after this birthday party, Shavaun was celebrating her very own birthday with some friends and family. Natasha was licking her wounds from the night before and checking something called Instagram stories. While reviewing photos and videos from the night before, she noticed some of her friends were OUT AGAIN. Her first reaction was to be upset for not receiving the invite but noticed it was for a beautiful woman who she did not recognize. That woman was Shavaun, having the time of her life and dancing all over the dance floor. Natasha, completely in awe, reached out to her mutual friends in attendance and casually tried to inquire about who this woman was and why she didn't know her. Natasha reached out to their friend Ashley to get the details of Shavaun and if she was single. Simultaneously, Ashley was sharing with Shavaun that Natasha was interested. Immediately, Natasha had a direct message from Shavaun! And let's just say, the kids don't say "it goes down in the DMs" for nothing! :) #atruemillenniallovesstory

The Proposal

#Justtakeit

It was a cold day in COVID, and Natasha had just ordered her 11th bundle of toilet paper for her home. While she sat and watched Mahari and Shavaun make her glow in the dark crowns, bracelets, and glasses... she realized something. The night they were having and the nights that they had been having was something she never wanted to end. They had successfully made it through a very busy basketball season, they were in close quarters kicking COVID's butt, and now about to close on their first duplex together. They were doing all the things and loving it. Natasha was the happiest she had ever been! In that moment, she said to herself....it's time! Natasha reached out to her good friend Maggi Simpkins who's a jeweler and they started designing the perfect ring for Shavaun. Natasha realized that having Shavaun with her 24/7 due to the pandemic, she was going to need some additional help pulling off an epic proposal. The two brides had already planned a getaway vacation to Cabo, so that was the place to pull off the biggest day! The texts to coordinate with everyone got dicey one night. Natasha was orchestrating the proposal and had not closed all tabs and apps. Shavaun grabbed Natasha's phone and wanted to look up something, Natasha immediately grabbed her phone back and turned off all notifications before handing it back! Let's just say...that was her one and only moment to get away with that! The trip was booked with a handful of Shavaun's closest friends to go to Cabo and do it big. The day of the proposal, Natasha could barely eat or drink. Shavaun thought she was just stressed about COVID and tried to brighten her up with a couple's massage. The group had a strict schedule and had told Shavaun it was time to go back to the house for "dinner". Shavaun was NOT HAPPY to leave early, fought to have a nap, and dragged all the way to the photos. Finally, Natasha was able to get her to follow simple commands...and BAM! The engagement commenced! #chileewemadeit
