Our journey began thanks to Brian's sister-in-law and Camryn's college housemate, Taryn, who had been trying to set us up for years. Eventually, Brian took matters into his own hands and messaged Camryn on Instagram -- under the guise of asking for advice on a fictional trip to Nashville. What started as a simple conversation turned into daily texts, phone calls, and an undeniable connection. That "trip" to Nashville finally did happen, but not for sight-seeing. Brian decided it was time to ask Camryn on a date and to express his feelings for her. After a delayed flight, he landed at 11pm and immediately went to meet up with her and her friends on Broadway. The moment he saw her, it was like a spotlight had shone down on her from the heavens as she stood "in the middle of the street" (AKA the crosswalk) looking for him. From the very beginning, we just clicked. We have always said we are the same person, like two peas in a pod. Our first date is still up for debate -- Brian insists it was that first night out on Broadway while Camryn is convinced it was a lunch date over some classic Nashville hot chicken. Regardless of the technicalities of that first date, by the end of that first trip, we both knew we were in love, even if we hadn't said it just yet. It wasn't until after Brian's next visit, when he asked Camryn to be his girlfriend at Greeter Falls, that he finally said the words "I'm falling in love with you." Camryn's response? "Me too. . . I'm falling in love with me too." Fast forward to December 22, 2024, in Evergreen, CO -- Brian was a nervous wreck, unable to sit still and let Camryn enjoy her lovely cup of coffee. Determined to stick to his plan, he convinced her to go "explore" a nearby waterfall (the predetermined proposal spot) he "thought he saw." After observing every single speck of dirt in his surrounding area, Brian finally got down on one knee. In true Brian and Camryn fashion, we bonked heads just as Camryn said "YES!" We celebrated the night surrounded by our immediate family at a surprise engagement party, marking the beginning of this next beautiful chapter together. Now, we can't wait to celebrate with all of you as we say "I do!"
