We met at church when I (Camryn) started going to Zion in August 2021. We were friends and talked in group settings, but we didn't realize our feelings for each other until I joined the Youth Group as a leader sometime in March 2022. We could see each other's passion for Jesus and began engaging in more one-on-one conversations. We bonded over our desire to see God glorified and dreams of going on missions. It wasn't hard for others to see we liked each other at this point, but both of us were in denial! We stubbornly devoted ourselves to a season of singleness and continued hiding our feelings - even from ourselves. Brandon was saving up to go to YWAM, and I was possibly going to YWAM after him. We had many conversations in our church parking lot (and still do!) about God, our dreams, who we were, who we wanted to be, and so much more. Eventually, I was finding any reason I could to be around Brandon. After friends on each side inquired about our interest in the other person, we could no longer deny it. Right before Brandon left for YWAM, I admitted I had feelings for him; even if our lives went separate ways, I felt at peace telling him. To my surprise, he also had feelings for me! I was so excited, and after a discussion and much prayer, we decided if God said yes after YWAM, then it was a yes for both of us! We went through 9 unique and challenging months of YWAM. Thankfully, we communicated over text, phone calls, and FaceTime! We also got to see each other in person for a week while we were both in Hawaii! Brandon asked me out after I returned home. We started to know one another in more profound ways. We began meeting each other's families and lived life with each other. We've enjoyed going on coffee dates and thrift shopping. We've gone on amazing adventures and learned much about one another. We weren't afraid to ask the bigger questions and were blessed when many of our ideas and dreams came together perfectly. The past few months have been the happiest few months of our lives. And it only gets better. We looked forward to marriage and dreamed about what life would be like after. On November 26th, 2023, Brandon asked me to marry him, and I said yes!
