The Cams are getting married!

We first crossed paths on October 15th, 2022, at Motion Fitness. Cameron was working the front desk when Camron walked in to check into class. Seeing the name pop up, Cameron casually said, "Hey, my name’s Cameron too." Camron replied, "It’s a good name." That was it—short, simple, and for a while, the most we said to each other. Truth is, we were both interested from day one but made assumptions the other wouldn’t be. Cameron figured Camron was out of his league. Camron thought Cameron had to be taken. So for months, we kept seeing each other at the gym—same space, same classes—but nothing more than polite nods and quiet glances. At one point, Cameron even worked out right next to Camron, hoping to spark a conversation. Nothing happened. Timing just wasn’t there yet. Fast forward to January 2023. Camron took a shot in the dark and searched dating apps to see if the front desk guy might be on one. After some solid dedication and scrolling, he found him—and swiped right. Cameron, unaware it was that Camron, swiped back without thinking twice. It wasn’t until they matched that he realized who it was. Cue the nerves. But also, excitement. We started chatting, and eventually decided to meet up—first for a workout, then dinner at South of Nick’s in Laguna Beach on January 14th, 2023. Cameron showed up with a teddy bear as a gift, got nervous, and almost left it (and the date) behind. But we saw each other, started walking toward dinner, and the nerves settled. We talked—really talked. About our past, what we were looking for, what we weren’t willing to fake. There was no need to put on a version of ourselves. We were both done with that. That honesty set the tone for everything that came after. After dinner, we didn’t want the night to end so we walked to Skyloft for a drink. There was live music, people dancing, a couple in light-up shoes, and a woman dancing with an Aperol Spritz who really stole the show. We were having the best time. Cameron, with a huge smile, looked over at Camron who was staring at him intently. Camron leaned in and kissed Cameron and the room muffled and the world seemed to disappear. Something that only happens in movies happened in that moment. Somewhere in the middle of all that, we realized we didn’t want the night to end. So it didn’t. We kept spending time together. First a few days. Then it turned into weeks. Then months. By the time a year had passed since our first meeting, we both knew. On October 15th, 2023, exactly one year later, Cameron proposed to Camron at the gym where it all started—during a surprise flash mob after class. Since then, life has been full of adventures, big changes and most importantly, bringing home our fur baby Billy, who quickly became the center of our world. We’re excited to keep building our lives together—grounded in love, honesty, adventure, curiosity, a bit of chaos, and a shared name.
