Flight
Hibbing is about 45 minutes away from Deer Lake, and is the closest small airport. You would take a brief flight from MInneapolis to get to Hibbing.
Hotel
There are 3 hotels near each other in Grand Rapids, which is 30 minutes from the venue. We plan for a shuttle that will go from the hotel area to the venue, so that guests don't have to drive. This is the largest and best of the hotels in the area. Pricing is around 130-150 a night. We will have blocks. More soon on that. This will be updated.
House Or Rental
This our home base budget option for spending the night. Cabins have multiple bunk beds in them, between 4 sets of bunks, or 8 sets, and we understand this can't work for everyone. But for &75, you get a place to crash with your friends, plus lunch on Friday, breakfast/lunch saturday, and breakfast on Sunday. Camp vibes. Nick and Šara will be staying at Hiawatha, and the afterparty will end here, along with other rustic daytime/evening adventures. Camping is free. Just tell us if you pick this option and we will help make it happen, and group folks with friends.
House Or Rental
There are a very LIMITED number of small family cabins in this resort, which is on Moose Lake just next door to Deer Lake. They will be saving some cabins for us up through January. Adorable rustic cabins between 2-3 bedrooms. Call and talk to Paulie, the owner!
House Or Rental
This is a wonderful LAKESIDE option on Deer Lake where the venue is. However, the catch is that they have restrictions with their check in and check out dates. So, you would have to check in on the saturday of the wedding, and leave the following saturday (stay a whole week after the wedding), or, you could check in and stay for a few weeks starting on Saturday the 14th. So this one is really for folks wanting to come up for an amazing vacation!
Hotel
This is another awesome hotel in Grand Rapids. Tucked just off of a main highway road, this hotel is so so hip and cool. It has a funky yurt for conference calls, amazingly decorated rooms, and feels both cool and trendy and rustic at the same time. They have a decked out shuttle bus we are trying to rent for the shuttle. Deliscious bistro restaurant food as well. Smaller than Timberlake lodge, (a tiny bit more pricey) but really nice. Rooms in the $150 range, depending on size. They also have one big suite room with three big rooms for multiple guests.
Travel Note
If you feel like renting a car is too tricky, let's try to coordinate between everyone coming. Google Form link forthcoming for Nick's Love language, which is LOGISTICS! More soon.
