So many reasons… but in short, we really just wanted to create an entire wedding weekend full of memories with all of our favorite people at a lakeside retreat complete with fun summer activities, amazing food, and carefree party vibes.
Nope! We recognize camp life might not be for everyone, and that’s totally ok! There are other places to stay in the area (see accommodations page). If you stay off site you are more than welcome to join us for all the weekend activities.
Of course! If you can't make it for the whole weekend, you’ll be able to RSVP for just the ceremony & reception. We’re just happy to have everyone come to whatever they’re able to, whenever.
- All food & drinks - Accommodations in the onsite cabins - All recreational activities - A guaranteed great time
Camp Cody is an actual kid’s summer camp (envision the nostalgia of Parent Trap, but way nicer). The cabins are updated and modern, all with twin sized bunks that can sleep anywhere from 2-10+ people per cabin, and all are equipped with electricity, heat, hot water, showers and toilets. There is also a large central cabin that has 1-2 person occupancy private rooms, some with larger beds, and multiple shared bathrooms per floor (picture a traditional Bed & Breakfast type stay). We will make the appropriate sleeping arrangements based on our guest list. Most of you can expect to be sharing a cabin with your closest friends and family (don't worry, we won't group you with someone you don't know). We will do our best to accommodate all cabin requests if you have one.
Friday Welcome Dinner: Fun Summer Casual (Ladies might wear sundresses/skirts/rompers, Men might wear polos/short sleeve button ups & shorts/slacks) Saturday Wedding and Reception: Semi-Formal (The ceremony will be on a beach, cocktail hour will be on grass, and the reception will be indoors. Ladies - choose your footwear accordingly) The rest of the weekend: come as you are Shorts & tees, bathing suits, sundresses, athleisure - whatever makes you comfortable to hang out and have fun
(These are optional of course, but just throwing out some ideas!) - Extra snacks and beverages - while all meals will be provided, please feel free to bring your favorite (nut-free) snacks, non-alcoholic drinks and adult bevs for your cabin and throughout the day. - Bathing suits & beach towels (& floaties if you can't swim) - Lawn games/your own sports equipment (any pickleball players out there?) - Weather appropriate clothing (who knows, it could be hot, cool, or rainy that weekend) - Anything else to make your stay more enjoyable (sunscreen, bug spray, comfy shoes, hairdryer, coolers, etc.)
- Nuts/snacks containing nuts of any kind - they are a strict nut-free facility - Bedding (unless you prefer to) - bunks come with a flat sheet, fitted sheet, blanket, pillow, pillowcase, and 2 towels - Dogs/Pets - Your kiddos
We love your kids, but kindly ask that you leave them home with childcare as we cannot accommodate all the youngsters as guests.
Oh yeah! Drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) will be provided at all dinners and meals, but feel free to bring a cooler with your fave beverages to enjoy throughout the weekend or in your cabin. While beer, wine and canned cocktails can be openly consumed anywhere on the camp property, NH has strict laws about where hard alcohol is consumed (despite that whole “Live Free or Die” thing) so just don't openly walk around with a handle of Captain - bring some solo cups or a trusty Yeti if you plan on mixing up a drink that didn’t come in a can ;)
For most of you it's a drivable destination, and there is plenty of on-site parking. Flying in? Portland Airport (PWM) in Maine is just over an hour away, but Boston (BOS) may have more options for less $, and is just over 2 hours away from camp.
All meals will be offered with options that are safe for those with allergies, preferences and dietary restrictions. You'll be able to let us know about these when you RSVP.
We recognize we're probably doing things different than most weddings you've attended, and that's part of the reason why we're doing it! At the end of the day, we just want a fun, carefree weekend spent making memories with our favorite people while we officially tie the knot! If you have any other questions/thoughts/concerns, or just want to tell us how excited you are to attend, please don't hesitate to reach out to either of us directly by call or text, or send us an email at camppinsky@gmail.com.
