We are getting married!!!

Maddie and I met on January 29th, 2023, the night of the AFC Championship game between Maddie's beloved Chiefs and the Bengals. Our mutual friend, Emma, invited a handful of friends to her house to watch. It was an easy yes for myself and my buddies to attend, however Maddie being new to Austin, only knew the host. She remembers her hesitancy to go, as anyone would, to a place with so many unfamiliar faces. I immediately noticed her sporting her vintage Chief's gear which eventually sparked a conversation. I remember our first conversation being so easy and filled with laughter as we chatted about her upcoming trip to the Smoky mountains, my mom's alpaca farm neighbor, my love for New Hampshire and her recent move to the Lone Star State. I told Maddie about my love for sand volleyball (I had played maybe 5 total times ever) as she floated the idea of making an intramural team. I HAD to have her number because I wouldn't DARE miss playing my new favorite sport with my new crush. As we were leaving Emma's that night, I bet my friend Sam $40 (weird amount of money?) that we would eventually date. I will happily be collecting my winnings in August of '26. Maddie and I frequented a few other gatherings over the next few months and finally, a happy birthday text from Matt to Maddie on May 4th of '23 kickstarted the story of the rest of our lives. Thursday, May 4th at 6:19PM "Happy Birthday" "And you're cute" - Matt "You cute too" - Maddie
