Question

What should we pack?

Answer

COMFORTABLE SHOES. If you don't have good shoes, you're gonna have a bad time and nobody will feel bad because you were warned. TOWELS Towels are the only linen that is not provided by the camp. I know, I thought it was weird too. HEADLAMP/FLASHLIGHT Obviously your phone works fine in a pinch, but you'll be glad to have a proper flashlight when you're trying to navigate your way back to the cabins after having one too many s'mores at the bonfire. WARM, COMFORTABLE CLOTHES This time of year is unpredictable in the Adirondacks, and it can get cold at night. We recommend some comfy sweatpants or leggings, a warm sweatshirt or a light jacket, and cozy socks or slippers. Just keep an eye on the weather as we get closer to the date. SUNSCREEN/BUG SPRAY We'll have some of this stuff in communal areas, but always good to have your own. SNACKS OR DRINKS We'll provide some stuff in the cabins and there will be plenty to eat and drink, but feel free to bring your own coolers, drinks, and any snacks you may want for the weekend. If you do bring food, please be sure to store it properly at night.

Question

Should we bring any camping gear?

Answer

If you're staying onsite, you don't need to bring anything other than yourself and a towel (the camp doesn't provide towels). But here's a few suggestions if you'd like to bring a few extras: - Camping Chairs - Cooler - Lawn games - Bluetooth Speaker - Warm clothes for the night time - Any extra blankets or personal sleeping effects you may want

Question

What should we wear?

Answer

Take a look at the schedule tab for full info as to what you should wear for each event of the weekend.

Question

Is there cell service/internet access?

Answer

Cell service is minimal at camp. James has AT&T and had one bar in some places, Meg is on Verizon and had basically no service the entire time. You'll have full service down the hill in Warrensburg. The cabins do not have WiFi, but the mess hall should have Starlink WiFi. No promises. Live in the moment.

Question

Is there parking onsite?

Answer

Yes, there is more than enough parking for anyone who is driving in.

Question

What is there to do nearby?

Answer

What, we're not enough for you? Forest Lake Camp is around 20 minutes from Lake George, which has lots to do and plenty of places to stay if you're looking to extend your trip in the Adirondacks. The area is well known for "leaf peeping" this time of year, and there are plenty of trails and scenic overlooks nearby if you want to see the Adirondacks painted in all their Autumn glory.
