Elle and Alex’s story began over Fourth of July weekend at Shagwong Tavern in Montauk, NY. Elle tagged along with friends for free drinks, courtesy of the “Bud guys”—and Alex happened to be one of them. He bought Elle a drink, then another, and by the end of the night, they had closed down the bar together. They crossed paths again in November on Marathon Sunday. After the race, they found themselves completely lost in conversation at a bar on the Upper East Side, so absorbed in their own world that Elle’s friends kept asking if she was on a date. Their official first date followed just a week later, seeing a show at Irving Plaza—a fitting start, as concerts have since become one of their favorite shared pastimes. In 2020, Elle and Alex moved in together in Hell’s Kitchen and have been savoring all that NYC has to offer ever since—devouring pizza slices, catching shows, seeing movies, exploring bars, and dancing their way through the city. They also share a love for travel. Their first trips were to hit the slopes at Mount Snow, Vermont, and then Mammoth Mountain, California. Since then, they’ve explored national parks and traveled abroad to Iceland, Mexico, Greece, Portugal, Spain, Ireland. Their journey led them to Peru, where, surrounded by breathtaking landscapes, Alex proposed, marking the beginning of their next adventure. Now, as they look forward to the future, Alex and Elle are thrilled to celebrate their love with family and friends on the same holiday weekend that first brought them together. They can’t wait to share their wedding day with those they love at Grateful Woods, in July 2025, as they begin this next chapter together.
