A dry camp means that there is no running water. Everyone is required to bring their own water for drinking, cooking, cleaning and hygiene. It is recommended that each person brings 2-3 gallons per day. Each couple should have a minimum of 5 gallons. There is a refill station ~1.5 miles away at the ranger station when entering. We'll be at the group campsites G04-G07 at Indian Cove Campgrounds in Joshua Tree. You will need the other camp essentials (see list below) to make your stay comfortable.
No, the campsites are easily accessible. There is a small portion that will be on a semi paved dirt road but most/all vehicles should be able to make it to the campsite without any problems.

Anything your heart desires. It can be home made or store bought. We are asking all guest to bring a plate/dish to serve 8-12 people. Your dish does not have to provide for everyone in the party. We have will have a list of items people will be bringing so that we do not have too much of any particular item. This list will be updated on the Potluck page as submissions are received. Please keep into consideration if your item needs to be refrigerated, or heated prior to being served. We will have a few stoves and grills available. Don't try to get too fancy and make it easy on yourselves. Some non-food items to consider are alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages, ice, firewood.

Yes, Joshua Tree is located just outside of Twenty-nine Palms. There are many grocery stores (Vons, Stater Bros & Walmart), coffee shops, restaurants and gas stations there. It is about 20 minutes away from the campgrounds. You will be driving through this area in order to reach the campgrounds.
