Joel and Nik both had a beloved grandmother named Delores. They liked the idea of sharing a matriarchal last name and love the sound of "The Deloreses."
SFO is a one-hour drive from the venue. Oakland Airport is a 1 hr 20 min drive. San Jose airport is a one hour drive. Take your pick! For those coming from long distance, SFO is likely the cheapest option.
You can rent a car, or take an uber/ lyft from the airport (approx $80). If you take an uber from the airport to the venue, we recommend pre-scheduling a taxi for your return trip as rides might be harder to locate from the camp.
Camp Delores will open at 4 pm on Friday, April 26. Come anytime after then. Dinner and Open Mic on Friday will both be casual-- feel free to arrive during either. You also have the option to arrive anytime before the ceremony on Saturday, which begins at 3:33 pm.
We are free to enjoy the beautiful 2000 year-old Redwoods until 1 pm on Sunday, April 28. Feel free to stay until then, or leave anytime before that suits your travel needs. You are also, of course, welcome to leave after the reception or ruckus on Saturday.
Half Moon Bay has the most options, which is 30 minutes away. There will be a shuttle provided between Half Moon Bay and the venue on the day of the Ritual & Ruckus. See the "Venue + Lodging" tab for more info. Some airbnbs are also available in the small mountain community of Sky Londa, which is 25 minutes away.
There is WiFi throughout the camp, but it is unreliable. We don't recommend counting on it. Cell service is mostly nonexistent.
Starting as early as you like, the camp will be open for hikes, canoeing, basketball, games, and more. There are abundant 2000 year old trees, yall. You're gonna wanna meet them. The ceremony starts at 3:33 pm, and we highly encourage you to enjoy the grounds beforehand.
For all your weekend outfits, LAYERS will be your friend! We're in a forest in the mountains. Bring what you need to stay cozy all weekend. Friday night will involve a meal and open-mic campfire to follow. Dress casual, feel cute, stay warm. Saturday ritual, reception, and ruckus require FLORAL PRINT for all genders. Dress sharp, feel fancy, rock a no-pressure floral print that inspires you to remember your body is connected to the planet. Sunday is just brunch, yall. Pajamas are as acceptable as the skirt you wore last night.
There are hiking trails to 2000yr old redwoods, so def bring some shoes you can use to visit those trees. Otherwise wear anything you can comfortably walk over roots and trails with. We do not recommend heels. Open-toed shoes are ok, but at your own temperature and tripping risk. ;)
Loma Mar Story and Kitchen is a 9 min drive-- espresso, grocery, and a good place to stop for lunch. No alcohol. La Honda County Market is a 12 min drive-- they have groceries, convenience goods, beer, wine, etc.
The camp allows us to have wine and beer, which will be abundantly available throughout the weekend. You may also get a secret password to enter a speakeasy at some point.
If you don't see a +1 indicated on your online RSVP, that means we have not accounted for a guest to attend with you. If you wish to bring someone who is not listed, let us know and we will try to accommodate!
We want what is best for you. If you're able to find childcare so you can dance your face off with us with no stress- COOL. If you cannot find childcare, there is plenty of space for your family. This is a kids camp after all.
-A headlamp may come in handy. -Good shoes for walking so you can enjoy the hiking trails, etc. -A warm jacket for early mornings and the Friday evening open mic. We’ll have blankets available but we want folks to feel extra super cozy.
Sorry, the camp does not allow dogs, cats, or pets of any kind. You will love the banana slugs though.
