Julia and Amy met in 2017 while volunteering at the Museum of Pop Culture (MoPOP). They quickly became friends after Amy presented her dissertation on Dolly Parton to Julia and a fellow volunteer turned friend. Amy has graciously allowed Julia to live on her couch twice, bolstered her through MANY ups and downs, and is a cherished chosen family member.
Delane Hollstein
Best Man
RJ met Delane at Youth Group and, in RJ's words, he was "a LOT." After joining the Youth Group band and spending more time together, RJ realized they had many things in common and eventually became best friends (and roommates). Despite Delane moving to Southern California, they remain close and have weekly phone calls to catch up on each other's lives.
Kendra De Groot Werfelmann
Bridesmaid
This may be surprising, given how common the last name Werfelmann is, but Kendra is married to Jonathan, who is RJ's friend. Julia and Kendra met shortly after Julia started dating RJ. They quickly bonded over their love of spicy books, pagan holidays, and making fun of their respective partners. Kendra and Julia are clearly better friends than RJ and Jon.
Jonathan Werfelmann
Groomsman
Jonathan is husband to Kendra (if you didn't figure that out already). RJ and Jonathan rolled in the same music circles unknowingly for years, but didn't officially meet until Jon started at Facebook. Through a series of happenstance, Jon moved in with RJ and Delane and lived with RJ until he met his wife, Kendra. Jon is known for making strong drinks, writing metal music, and giving wise advice. Jon and RJ are grateful to Kendra and Julia for planning so many friend dates for them.
Brian Campbell
Officiant
Brian has known Julia her whole life (because he is her brother). Brian is the reason that Julia thought coyotes were 6 feet tall and walked on two legs and that the animatronic shark from Jaws was still swimming around killing people, so of course it makes sense that he officiates the wedding. He is a wonderful dad to two incredible girls and gave Julia the best sister-in-law she could ask for.
