How We Met

Oh where do I even begin? Let me just start with saying what a small world we live in. Our story is unique. I had been following Clark on social media and thought he was just the cutest boy ever. I would talk about him to my family and friends all the time. A good friend of mine, Craig, and Clark ended up going to college together in Texas. When I found out that they started hanging out and were becoming good friends, I told Craig to help a girl out and put in some good words for me. ;) This is what I mean by small world. My crush and a friend that I have known my entire life becoming such good friends. We began talking in December of 2014 and here we are today, engaged and planning a wedding!

The Proposal

Oh man, the dream proposal. We absolutely love the mountains and hope to live there some day! We went to Colorado for the weekend of July 4th to spend some time with his family! Little did I know that we would be getting engaged!! A little side note- he hid the ring in a little toolbox in the backseat on our way up. Let me just fill you in on our bad luck throughout this trip. On our way, we run out of diesel because we are hauling a 4x4 and are getting horrible mpg. Not starting off the trip real well, huh? We get to CO and we spend our first evening in Creede exploring and watching the beautiful firework show they put on up in the mountains! The next two days we rode the 4x4 all over just taking in God's beautiful creations. After lunch on the last day, me, Clark, his momma, and step dad loaded up in the truck and headed to the very top of this tall mountain near their house. I had been telling Clark how bad I wanted to get to the top of some mountains and see the snow that was still there. So because he knew that, he decided to take me up there. We got about 3/4 of the way up the mountain, the truck started over heating real bad. On top of that, Clark found a penny tails up. Just our luck. Well, we had to go ahead and turn around and head back down so we wouldn't get stranded on the top with no help. We make it a little ways down and went up to the top of this hill that is surrounded by mountains and pines and Clark's momma wanted to take pictures of him and I and I wanted some pictures of the beautiful scenery. I didn't think anything about it because we had taken multiple pictures together already! Bam. He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I was SO surprised (he usually isn't good at keeping secrets)!!!!! Even with everything that went wrong on this trip, it will forever be my very favorite. I have to add that every single day we went exploring, he put the ring box in his tall nike sock!
