We met on Hinge. It was Steph's first online date. Unfortunately, it was NOT my first online date. I was very ill (turned out to be covid), and very late. Steph was 45 minutes early. Luckily, we did meet up eventually. We both nursed iced teas for 4 hours and talked about everything under the sun. We first kissed on the bumper of my Subaru (true to our brand). For our second date, I had barely recovered from Covid. We went on a beautiful walk by the Charles River where I first met Cora (the true love of my life :p). We sat on a bench where we were somehow able to talk for hours more, and where Steph managed to get the worst sunburn she has ever had. The third date was by far the most memorable. Steph took me to a school event, where all of her middle schoolers asked a) when we were getting married and b) if we were dating or sisters. As a pediatrician (an almost-pediatrician at the time), I loved meeting Steph's students and seeing how much they loved her. Our wedding invitations will be addressed by one of her students (shoutout Ezra) who is an expert calligrapher. We were officially married on January 18, 2025 in our new home of Charlotte, North Carolina surrounded by immediate family and our Charlotte-based chosen family. However, we would never miss the opportunity to invite the rest of our family and friends to share in our celebration in Massachusetts, where we were both born, raised, and hope to return to raise our own family. Steph and I can't wait to party with all of you! Love, Shelagh
