How We Met

3.16.19

Trevor and Alyssa met doing one of their favorite college activities, attending “Rama” at a local bar called The Riv. Rama is celebrated every Thursday and Saturday starting at 11am and a typical wait to get inside was about 1 hour. When they met it was for a special St. Patrick’s Day Rama and they had to wait for 3+ hours. The story starts when Alyssa and her group of friends cut Trevor in line, and he and his friends were not happy about it. With the help of Sidney Baxter (Alyssa’s bridesmaid) they were able to win over Trevor and his friends and enjoyed the 3 hours in line together. After that day Trevor texted Alyssa and a few days later asked her to go to his frat formal in Canada where their love blossomed. Just 3 short weeks after meeting, they were inseparable and Trevor asked Alyssa to be his (first) official girlfriend. 4.5 years later they now live together in Wrigleyville and are super excited for their future of being wiener dog and bernese mountain dog owners.

The Proposal

9.30.23

Trevor and Alyssa were planning to meet his sister (Megan) and her husband (Muhammad) for dinner while they were visiting Chicago. When Trevor and Alyssa got close to the restaurant, they encountered many obstacles including Alyssa running into an old friend and a random man with “marry me” balloons and flowers staring them down (who ironically ended up proposing to his girlfriend 5 minutes later). After they made it passed all of this, Trevor got down on one knee and popped the question. They both fumbled on putting on the ring and Alyssa forgot to say “yes” at first. It was the perfect 80 degree day on the water overlooking many Chicago skyscrapers. After, they went to dinner at Gibson Italia where they both drank their own bottles of wine before heading out to meet with some friends to celebrate. When they arrived, they were greeted at the bar with all of their closest family and friends, many of which drove several hours or flew in from other states. It was the perfect evening.
