Flight
Direct flights to Salvador's airport (SSA) are not very common, so the best option is a connecting flight via Brasília (BSB), São Paulo (GRU), or Rio de Janeiro (GIG). The flight to Salvador from any of these airports takes about two hours. Search for flights with the usual suspects: Kayak, Google Flights, Momondo or your preferred airlines. You can also bike or walk but could take a bit longer. ---------------------- The airport is located 25-30 kms from the city. The best way to travel to and from the airport is via Uber which costs around 70-100 reais (US$12-18).
Travel Note
April is as hot as any other month. So expect temperatures of around 24-30 Cº (76-86 Fº). Check the weather, it might rain a bit too!

I spent two years in Salvador and I never had to use cash. Most credit cards are accepted. But you can use ATMs to get some $ or reais. 1 dollar = 5.85 reais at the moment

It's a nice Pousada. I stayed here a couple of times, very cozy and in a nice neighborhood. It's at Corredor da Vitoria.
