Our story starts with a simple, yet life changing question: "Are you looking for christian community on campus?" We met on SIUE's campus during a black student welcome while I (Camille) was doing outreach for Black Campus Ministry. Nico came by the table where the question was asked to him and he responded with, "Yeah! Actually I am." I roped him in with more info about the ministry and our t-shirt raffle we had going on. To enter, you had to take a picture at the table and post it to your social media with us tagged. Of course, he took a picture with me AND won the shirt 🤣 A couple months later, on a trip for our BCM, we spent hours talking on the bus ride to Joliet. (Anyone who knows us knows BOTH of us can talk all day long!) From then on, we bonded over the Word of God, the gym and dogs! It was history! We went on our first date the day before Thanksgiving, and started dating December 7, 2023.
