This is Camille's favorite place in Shreveport. She grew up visiting Norton Art Gallery from the time she was a toddler and thinks it one of Louisiana's most treasured hidden gems. Norton's gardens span 40 acres and at Easter, the azaleas consume the entire property. The gallery is host to the most incredible collection of artists that you would never expect to see in Shreveport. "When Ralph Waldo Emerson said 'beauty breaks in everywhere' he was thinking about nature, but he might as well have been thinking about art. America overflows with excellent little museums, tucked away in small towns, and worth a detour or even a trip. One of those is the R.W. Norton Art Gallery." -The Wall Street Journal
Provenance is our home! We love this little neighborhood and consider it to be our slice of heaven. There are 3 great restaurants in the neighborhood, and you can't go wrong with any of them! While you're here, please explore our community. It's filled with parks and is super family friendly. We would love to share our home with you! We suggest Franks Louisiana Seafood if you want a taste of our state. It's probably the best local cuisine in town. If you are craving latin then check out El Cabo! Their margaritas are to die for and they only use the freshest ingredients in their food. For a drink or a burger, Windrush is the best! We love to get a nightcap there on our way home.
Superior Steakhouse (Steakhouse for short) is one of our favorite date spots! When Matt lived on Dudley, it wasn't unusual for us to have drinks at Steakhouse's bar at least 3 nights a week. The food is phenomenal, but we love the bar's atmosphere the most! If you sit in the bar, ask for Candace and tell her Matt and Camille sent you (she was one of the first people we told we were engaged).
Rhino is a Shreveport staple! It's the best local coffee shop with great bites and while you're there, walk down the street to Norton Art Gallery! We love to take our coffee to-go and walk around Norton's gardens.
If you get here early and need something fun to pass the time, see what's playing at Robinson Film Center. Robinson's is a local movie theater that shows everything from the classics to obscure indies. If you want dinner and a show, Abby Singer's Bistro is located on the second floor of the building and has some incredible food!
Guiseppe's is one of our favorite restaurants. Its a small pasta cafe that's perfect for lunch or a romantic dinner. We recommend the spinach tagliolini (it's the best)!
