Last time I told this story, I began in 1989, long before Julie and I actually met in 2022. And yet, it feels as if we had already spent a lifetime almost finding each other. Julie and I have both lived in California, Pennsylvania, Washington D.C., and Brooklyn. We had a mutual friend while living in D.C. and a whole mutual friend group for a year before meeting in NYC. Somehow we were at same concert in 2022 and Julie even politely declined one of my stand-up shows (as is her right). So we can call it a slow but deliberate fate when we met at our mutual friend’s birthday party 3 and a half years ago. To add to these coincidences for all you romantics out there like myself, we realized after we set the date for our wedding that it will be the four years to the day since we met. Julie and I have loved traveling the world together. We’ve laughed and cried our way down winding one-way roads in Portugal, survived a drawing class with an old man in Rome, sweated through the Mayan ruins in Mexico, and returned again and again to one of our favorite cities, London where we first saw one of our favorite West End shows- Operation Mincemeat. Thanks to my brother Steven hooking us up with Jetblue tickets, Julie has been able to share her experiences growing up in Europe and we've been so fortunate to travel the world in style- toodle blue! Back home in Brooklyn we love to hang out in our cozy apartment, host gatherings like Christmas karaoke and high tea, and see shows whenever we can. We often escape to Amelia Island to visit Julie’s parents, Deb and Mike, a place that’s become very meaningful to us. Being close to much of my family means plenty of time together, usually involving elaborate competitive games (foil ball, socket ball, and 10 boop- patents pending). Back in the city, we’ve filled our days with park adventures with Erin, Dan, and Rae, cooking competitions with Greg and Dee, and many crowded family holidays at my parents’ place, Anne and Dave’s. I'd be remiss if I did not also mention our beloved cat named Gray Gray. 8,900 photos and videos are available upon request. We are so grateful to each of you for coming together to celebrate our next step and welcoming us into your lives in all the special ways you do. See you all so soon!
