June 20, 2015: Camille's brother, Chris, was home from Washington D.C. His favorite law school band, My So Called Band, was playing in downtown Tulsa. Despite Camille's late night out prior at the Tulsa Zoo's Waltz on the Wildside, Chris was determined to make Camille go with him and with some serious nagging from her older brother, she finally gave in. MEANNWHILLLEEE, the sister of Jeremy's best man, Thomas Pynn, had just gotten engaged that same day and the group was looking to celebrate with....yup, you guessed it! MY. SO. CALLED. BAND. The stars aligned and that evening, Camille and Jeremy both in the thick of the crowds singing their hearts out to Backstreet Boys and Celine Dion looked over towards each other and THAT'S where it all began! Morale of the story? Never pass up a 90s cover band.
December 23, 2017: A few days after Jeremy's Birthday and a few days before Christmas, we head to Norman to visit Jeremy's Grandmother and family to celebrate the holidays. [[Side note]] Jeremy and I both went to OU for undergrad. Four years on that campus, living a mile apart, knowing the same people, we NEVER met. Not once! I even knew one of his groomsmen well, but somehow we never crossed paths. All that to say, we never got to experience Norman together. So any chance we get to play around on campus we do. [[Back to the story]] We were a little early for all of the Christmas festivities, so Jeremy suggested we go and grab coffee and then walk around campus first. We stop at Starbucks, grab some coffee and head that way. Parking in the North Oval, we head to the South Oval (for you non-sooners out there, this is the shot they use in all the commercials with the Seed Sower and the Library) where we walk past some of our favorite buildings. Circling back around, with the perfect vision of my college building, the Seed Sower, and the stunning Library, Jeremy got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife!! It was even topped off with some magical cheers from the construction workers on the building across the way (which I loved!). Through me repeating "we're engaged, we're engaged!" and totally blacking out and losing my second pair of Ray Bans, we facetimed and called all of our loved ones and then headed off to tell Jeremy's parents and family in person at Christmas. Later that day, we headed back to Tulsa where my entire family met us at my parent's house to celebrate over champagne. It was a magical, heart warming, perfect day!
