Derek and I met on Hinge where we began exchanging witty banter at the beginning of May 2023. Derek and I both were having thoughts of fizzling out of the online dating scene, but decided to give it one last try with each other. At the beginning of June 2023, we finally met at Notch Brewery in Salem where we shared a few beers and soft pretzels. After that first date, it began to move pretty swiftly! Taylor would be proud! A few weeks later, Derek didn't want to waste any more time. When a man knows, he knows! Throughout the summer of 2023, many outings and excursions were enjoyed, and we ended the summer with a trip up to Bethel, Maine where Derek frequents every summer. When summer turned to fall, we decided we truly didn't want to waste any more time and made the decision to move in together and test out what it would be like to have three dogs under the same roof! The girls adjusted as quickly as their humans did. With 2023 ending, we knew 2024 was going to be full of even more love for each other and more chapters would be added to our story. In June of 2024, Derek knew he had one shot to catch me off guard. While visiting with a cousin down in Brewster, MA, Derek plotted and planned with my cousin to pull off the ultimate surprise. While sitting on the outdoor patio space of Ocean Edge Terrace, enjoying cocktails and the views, a hand brushed upon my shoulder. Confused, looking toward my cousin, I turn to look up at the person touching me to find Derek standing beside me. Even more confused as I thought Derek was working! Nevertheless, Derek got down on his knee and popped the question! Obviously, I said YES! And here we are! Planning our most perfect day to spend with those we cherish most and hold close to our hearts! We can't wait to continue our story and celebrate with you at the upcoming festivities!
