I first met Camille when we were freshmen in college at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. We had known of each other through mutual friends, but our relationship began to grow when we had both decided to stay in SLO during the summer between our junior and senior year. I wasn't looking for a relationship or opportunities to date, but I had always remembered the first time I intentionally talked to Camille one-on-one. Camille was exceptionally easy to talk to and I felt like I could be myself around her, even from our first interaction. She also laughed at all my jokes, which was a plus. My mom had always been scared that I would eventually come home with a California girl, one that may steal me away to California for the rest of my life, but at last, although I had never asked a girl out during my time at Cal Poly, I decided to ask Camille out to a coffee date and it was history ever since. The fact that our coffee "hang-out" was a date is still in contention to this day (we talked for three hours, I paid... it was a date). The truth was, I was smitten. I knew I loved her less than a couple weeks later. I had never made a list of what my future wife would be like, but I continued to see every quality in Camille that I knew I was searching for in a life partner. Her spirit was special. She was unbelievably kind and thoughtful, intentional, understanding, and most of all, a little goofy. We began to enjoy our last year of college together, creating memories with our roommates and friends, meeting family, and traveling along the beautiful central coast of California. She understood people in a unique way and sought to love every aspect of me...good and bad, past, present, and future. God’s handiwork is shown so beautifully through our similar stories of faith, struggle, and triumph. I can’t imagine living without Camille’s wonderful personality and character and I look forward to making her a Cannon forever!
While Cutter may have known his feelings of love first, I had always noticed him first! I was drawn to Cutter’s gentle kindness, confidence and his unique humor, which had struck me as kinda crazy in the best way early on. I knew instantly that Cutter was different than anyone I had ever met. He was more genuine, more real and complex than anyone I had met before, and all I wanted was to get to know him more after that first coffee date! (which I also claim was a date!!) We immediately clicked being able to joke around and enjoy fun adventures together and then dive deeper into life and Jesus without skipping a beat. The more I got to know Cutter, the more I fell in love with the amazing man that he is! He never ceases to amaze me with his character, his depth, his care for people and his love for me. We have been continually struck by God’s goodness and timing in our lives to bring us together and allow our uniqueness to compliment each other so perfectly! After a year of falling in love and sharing life together, Cutter proposed in Maui on October 9th, 2019!! It was a dream come true to celebrate our engagement in our favorite place with our parents and my sister there as well! We're looking forward to this growing season as we live apart (Cutter in Gig Harbor and Camille in the Bay Area) and count down the days to celebrating with family and friends on July 3rd, 2020!
To our wonderful family and friends, During this uncertain time, please know you are all in our thoughts and prayers. We have made the tough decision that we will not be able to hold our large wedding gathering due to our current circumstances and safety guidelines in place. Instead, we will be getting married with our family and bridal party in San Luis Obispo, CA on July 11th, 2020. We feel blessed to be able to start our lives together, but will also greatly miss the opportunity to celebrate with all our amazing family and friends. Thank you for all of your love, support and prayers as we start our new chapter together as husband and wife! We do not currently have plans to postpone our wedding celebration, but if we are able to hold a reception in the future, we look forward to celebrating with you all. Following our wedding, we will be moving to Nashville, TN at the end of July! Camille will be attending an RN program at Union University and Cutter will be continuing his career in business. We appreciate your prayers for our upcoming adventure! We would love to hear from you and see how you are doing. Please know you are all in our thoughts and we will miss you dearly next year! Love, Camille and Cutter
