11.12.22 A day to celebrate new beginnings. They met in Las Vegas to celebrate Christy and Damion Peterson’s retirement from the United States Air Force. Having served over 30 years, they have been blessed with many lasting relationships. Charles was there to celebrate Damion, long time friend and fellow Airman. Camille was there to celebrate her sister and brother-in-law. What started as casual conversation at a 90’s themed party, turned into “not a date” soaring over Fremont street. That night led to conversations lasting until the early hours of the next day. Neither one was looking to be in a relationship, and neither had expectations of where this could lead, but God knew. The weekend ended and it was back to Texas for them both. Look at God. Charles to Corpus Christi and Camille to Houston. The distance didn’t seem to matter. They stayed on the phone for hours and hours every single day, like high school sweethearts. 12.12.22 They decided to make it official. The solid foundation built in those first 30 days, sustained them through distance, unexpected illness, sadness and managing differences. The past two years have been filled with a lot of laughter and some tears. Through it all, their love and commitment remained steadfast. Shared values and a strong devotion to their children; Jasmine, Brianna and Charles III (Tripp) binds them. 11.18.24 During a trip to Jamaica, on a beautiful beach with a perfect sunset in the background, Charles managed to surprise Camille and asked her to marry him in full fanfare, complete with a “marry me” sign and sparklers (because he knows she’s extra). Of course the answer was yes! The Yin and Yang of their personalities allow them to grow in ways they’ve never considered. Charles is able to calm her storm and Camille brings out his playful side. They find comfort and excitement in each other’s quirks. We feel lucky to have found one another and look forward to becoming husband and wife.
