Our love story

From high school sweethearts to forever.

We were just two high school kids. He was 17 and I was 16 when our paths first crossed. It was a regular day, a simple baseball game. I had gone to cheer on a friend, but that’s when we saw each other for the first time. And in that single moment, something clicked. It was effortless. In that instant, something shifted. A glance turned into curiosity, and curiosity quickly turned into something we couldn’t ignore. From that day forward, we were inseparable. We exchanged numbers, hearts, and dreams. On April 9th, 2022, he asked the question that made it all official: “Will you be mine?” And from then on, we were each other's always. What began with bleachers and baseball bats turned into long conversations, shy smiles, and steady hands that would one day hold a lifetime. Though we went to different schools, that never kept us apart. I was there in the stands cheering him on at his baseball games, and he was right there supporting me at my cheerleading competitions and softball games. We made the most of every moment. Homecoming proposals, Promposals, school dances, and late-night talks about life and the future. We even celebrated each other’s graduations side by side, soaking in every milestone with laughter, love, and excitement for what was ahead. As our love grew, so did our faith. I had invited him to church and without hesitation he said yes. We started going to church together and found something even deeper in the way God began working in both of our lives. It’s been nearly four years of learning, growing, laughing, praying, and simply becoming the best versions of ourselves together. Watching each other grow closer to God became one of the most beautiful parts of our journey. Then came February 14th, 2025. He got down on one knee, and everything around us felt like it stood still. It was perfect. It was beautiful. It was us. That moment was a dream wrapped in tears, laughter, and everything we’d ever hoped for. And now, here we are preparing for the most sacred step of all: becoming husband and wife. Now, we’re counting down the days until April 24th, 2026, when we’ll become Mr. and Mrs. Rodriguez in Ponce, Puerto Rico. Surrounded by our dearest family and friends, we will say “I do." We’re incredibly grateful to God for writing our love story, for guiding us every step of the way, and for His continued faithfulness in our lives. As we step into marriage, we’re filled with excitement for what’s ahead. Building a home, raising a God fearing family, and loving each other through every season, all the way to old and gray. “Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.” Mark 10:9
