Camila and Jonathan met in 2015 when Camila transferred to Palmetto High School. They shared only one period together and bumped heads right away. Their classmates would have sworn they hated each other with every witty, sarcastic comment they shot at each other! It wasn't long before Camila started to warm up to Jon and they became really good friends. Sharing many lunch periods together, and constantly talking on the phone after school, their friendship blossomed. Despite their friendship being something they both treasured, life would separate them for a little while. As many friends do, they had a falling out and didn't speak for a year! Until God brought them together again and, as they say, the rest is history!

Camila had been dying to take Jonathan on a trip to Puerto Rico for a long time before the opportunity finally arrived. What she didn't know was that Jon would also take this opportunity to propose to her before the trip was over. Like many rom-com story plots, the vacation did not go as planned at all! They left Fort Lauderdale at 5:30 am, after Jon had driven four hours to pick up Cami and her younger brother on the way to the airport. Once they arrived the challenge to hide the ring began! Starting with keeping her distracted so he could take the ring out of his suitcase while their bags were checked! (Neither of them knows how she didn't notice the giant box shape in his front jean pocket.) Four days before the end of their trip they got into the car early in the morning on the way to Cabo Rojo, everyone scrambling to make sure their bags were packed, no one has had breakfast (except for Jon who managed to sneak a popsicle), and everyone has little to no patience for this two and a half-hour drive that became a four-hour drive after we got lost along the way to the cabin! When finally arriving at the cabin in Cabo Rojo, Jonathan finds out he can't make it to the beach where he had planned to propose! With the time coming closer, he tells everyone to get ready for dinner as he scopes the area for a pretty place to propose. Luckily, he found just the right spot under a Flamboyan tree! Camila is motion sick, hangry as can be, not having eaten anything all day long, and ready to leave the cabin when her grandfather says he has a surprise for her. She doesn't want to shut her eyes and follow blindly since he's known to be a prankster, but this lightens her mood and he leads her across the yard. He helps her sit and when she opens her eyes she sees Jon with the ring in his hand, kneeling in front of her with a nervous smile. A day that started in pure chaos ended in the happiest moment of their whole trip and the first step toward the rest of their lives together.
