Mara and Billy met at Caffrey's Pub on Marquette's campus. It was Mara's 21st birthday, and Billy happened to pick up a Monday night shift. Billy taught Mara how to do an Irish car bomb (a Marquette tradition) and the rest is history. By the time they get married, they will have been together for 6 years. In that time, they have planted roots in Milwaukee where they both stayed after college. Together, they've graduated college and built their careers, Mara as a nurse and Billy as a coach. They love spending weekends with friends and their sweet Springer Spaniel, Opie.

Billy popped the question in October of 2022 at their favorite park near home. They go there every weekend to drink coffee and play ball with Opie. Afterward, friends and family celebrated with them in Milwaukee and Chicago. It was the best weekend!
