We first met in Finley Hall on move-in day our freshman year at Oregon State University. While walking through the halls to meet new neighbors, I (Vanessa) saw Cameron's dorm room door was open where he and a few of his friends were hanging out. I was a bit nervous to introduce myself to a room full of strangers, but Cameron's smile and friendly demeanor instantly made me feel comfortable. That same evening a bunch of us living in the hall got together and lifelong friendships were formed. A few weeks later, Cameron invited me to the USMC Ball where our friendship grew stronger. We never stopped talking, and began dating soon after.

As we both love going out to eat together, it didn't seem out of the ordinary for Cameron to make dinner reservations for us to try a new restaurant in Laguna Beach, California. We had a lovely dinner at this beautiful restaurant looking out over the ocean. After dinner we walked the trail along the cliffs until we found ourselves in a gazebo as the sun went down. Cameron wrapped his arms around me and professed his love for me. Even then, I did not catch on to what was about to happen as Cameron has always been a romantic and has always let me know how loved I am. As he got down on one knee, I began to process what was happening. I couldn't have said 'yes' any faster! We are so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in Fallbrook!
