Our Story

The Best Relationships Start off as Friendships

A Swede walks into a bar... No Really… In late November 2016, Sofia met a group of friends for brunch at a bar. Two things put a smile on her face that morning: the Chicken & Waffles and the waiter - Cameron. It turned out that one of her friends knew Cameron from Nursing School, and thought they would be a perfect match. With a little encouragement from her friend, Sofia walked up initiating the friendship. For the next few months they found themselves meeting up early in the mornings to go hiking, go for a run on the beach and maybe breakfast or coffee. As the months went by, hikes became longer, runs included stretching, and the coffee mugs were still half full long after breakfast was finished. Yosemite was the turning point as the friend zone deteriorated and soon after, the two took a trip to Temecula in August 2017. While riding horses through a vineyard at sunset, Cameron asked Sofia to be his Girlfriend. During the fall months of 2017 they started to realize that they were really meant to be together. Deep conversations, shared passion for traveling, both voluntarily waking up for 4 AM workouts, as well as a love for cooking and wine made their time together very special. This made it a natural step to have Sofia move into Cameron’s charming little apartment in North Park just before Christmas. The adventure never stops with these two, and they grew very close traveling through the Philippines and Singapore, road trips to half a dozen National Parks, and exploring her home country, Sweden. 2018’s most memorable trip would be the camping trip to Rocky Mountain National Park in September. After an amazing hike through the fall-colored Aspens, next to creeks and waterfalls the two made it to the Loch Lake. Cameron lured Sofia down to the water and instead of setting the timer to snap a photo he pressed record, declared his love for her, then dropped to one knee and asked her to marry him. She said, “Yes!”
