Sandi first met Cameron when she was at their mutual friend's moving away party. Heather had met the man of her dreams and was getting ready to hit the open road to North Carolina, but not without a huge parting party at what was then The Pour House with the 90s cover band Total Recall playing live music that night. Sandi was chatting with her old friend Ciara when she introduced Sandi to her roommate, Cameron. After a night of hitting it off, Sandi couldn't stop thinking about Cameron and contacted Heather to get his number. But between Nutcracker starting up in Ukiah (Sandi) and set building for Big Idea in Sacramento (Cameron), the timing was off. It wasn't until Sandi initiated conversation just after Christmas of that year they started to talk every day. They made a plan to meet for coffee at Old Soul in Sac after Sandi got back from her yearly trip to Yosemite with her grandma and before she went back to Ukiah for her last semester teaching at Mendocino Ballet. The coffee date lasted for three short hours. Neither of them wanted to leave, but Cameron had to go to a birthday party. They parted ways knowing they would see each other soon. Sandi moved back to Sacramento later that year, and a year after that Cameron moved in with Sandi and her two cats Remy and Charlie. One week after their 4 year anniversary, Cameron came home with a bouquet of flowers, which wasn't weird since he did it every so often. Sandi was at the end of a week break from work, so she was busy in the kitchen making their dinner in her PJs, not having changed all day since the world was still in shut down. After dinner, Cameron said he had a gift for Sandi that he had to record her opening because her "reactions going to be priceless". Sandi was very confused but let it happen anyways. He brought out this HUGE Disney Princess bag. inside the bag was a Kate Spade (Sandi's favorite) tumbler with the word Miss crossed out with Mrs written underneath it. It took a second for things to click. "Is this real?" Sandi asked Cameron, as he was filming it for their families to watch. "Why don't you look inside?" Cameron responded. Inside the tumbler was a little black box with a ring inside. Cameron got down on one knee with the ring and asked Sandi to marry him. And of course she said YES.
