Where are the ceremony and the reception taking place?

The ceremony and reception are both taking place at Nottoway Plantation located at 31025 LA-1 in White Castle, LA 70788. Please see the Schedule page for additional details.

When should I RSVP by?

Please provide RSVPs (mailed or online) by Friday, October 16, 2020.

Can I RSVP online?

Answer

Yes! Although mailed RSVPs preferred, you are also able to RSVP online through our website. Please see refer to instructions included within your physical invitation on how to complete an online RSVP.

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony will take place outside on the plantation grounds. All other events will take place indoors.

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

We recommend that you arrive an hour before the start of the ceremony (i.e., 5:30 PM), to make sure everyone is on time and we can get the party started as scheduled!

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes, there is free parking onsite at Nottoway Plantation. Please note, Nottoway is 25 miles (approx. 30 minute drive without traffic) from downtown Baton Rouge. Please consider this when planning as traffic can be heavy on Friday afternoons!

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

Yes, there will be transportation provided to and from the ceremony for guests staying at both the Renaissance & the La Quinta Inn & Suites. Please see the Travel page for additional details.

Is there a dress code?

Answer

The dress code for our wedding is semi-formal. Tuxes, suits, jacket/sports coat with a tie, gowns, and cocktail attire are all welcome.

Does your wedding have a color theme?

Answer

Yes! The color palette for our wedding is navy, sage, marsala, desert rose, and blush.

What happens after the ceremony?

Answer

After the ceremony, guests can head inside of the Mansion for a social cocktail hour with beverages and tour through the historic site. Please refer to the Schedule page for additional details.

Will food and drinks be served at the reception? What kind of food?

Answer

Yes, the reception will include a buffet style dinner serving traditional cajun favorites and beverages (i.e., non-alcoholic, alcoholic - beer, wine and liquor). Bring your party hat and dancing shoes!

Are kids welcome?

Answer

While we love your little ones, our wedding reception is going to be an adults-only event so that everyone can relax and enjoy the evening. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time so you can celebrate carefree with us.

Can I take and post pictures of the wedding on social media?

Answer

We ask that guests please not take pictures or videos during the ceremony. However, we encourage guests to take pictures at all other wedding events! If posting pictures to social media channels, our only request is that our wedding hashtag #MeetTheHendersons is used so we can keep track of all of the amazing pictures from the night!
