Flight
We know that travel plans will differ amongst guests based on whether or not you are traveling prior. The closest airport to the island of Ischia is Naples International Airport (NAP) - Capodichino. It offers direct flights across Europe, though North American guests will likely have a connection. The couple will be flying out of Charlotte, with a brief connection in Chicago O'Hare (ORD), then direct to the Naples International Airport (NAP). They have already purchased their flights in October of 2025 costing approximately $800 (per person, round trip). We strongly recommend purchasing flights well in advance, especially since prices will increase drastically the closer we get to July (peak season). Passports are required to travel to Italy. Passports must still be valid 6 months out from when you plan to use your passport. Check them soon as it can take quite some time to get a new passport! Note: The European Union's launch of ETIAS has been postponed and is expected to be implemented in the last quarter of 2026. This is virtually an online travel authorization form with an application fee of $20 for non-EU residents traveling to certain countries within Europe. It is TBD if/when this will go in to affect and we most likely will not need them to travel to Italy in July 2026.
Travel Note

Shuttle
July 8, 2026 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm
The cost of a private shuttle bus from the Port of Ischia to the Villa Rosalia is €6 per person. This rate applies to groups of 8 people and can be arranged by the host of Villa Rosalia. For fewer people, private taxis can be arranged as well, and the rates range from €20 - €30 (for 1 - 4 passengers) . Furthermore, upon arrival at the Port of Ischia (Ischia Porto), you can easily find taxis waiting right outside the main arrival area where the ferries and hydrofoils dock. The main taxi rank is usually right near the port entrance, close to where you exit the terminal. Here are a few taxi services and their general locations near the port: Taxi Ischia Express: http://www.taxischiaexpress.it/ Ischia Taxi Tour: https://www.ischiataxitour.it/ Tax Ischia - Servizio Taxi Tommy: https://www.taxi-ischia.it/ These services are typically open 24 hours. You can either use one of the waiting taxis at the rank or call one of the companies above for a pre-booked transfer. Tip: Before starting your journey, it's always a good idea to agree on the fare with the driver or ensure the meter is used, as fares on the island can vary. Or you can prebook online!
House Or Rental
We rented out Villa Rosalia for the week and will be hosting the wedding party and close family during this time. The Villa has several gardens and an outdoor pool overlooking the sea. For those staying at the Villa, check-in is Wednesday, July 8th @ 4pm and check out on Monday, July 13th @ 10:00 am. All wedding attendees that are not staying at the Villa are welcome to visit us during the week leading up to and after the day of the wedding ceremony for some relaxation by the pool!
Travel Note
You will find numerous apartments, condos, and private villas available throughout the island. This can be a great option for groups or those who prefer self-catering. Popular areas for rentals include: Ischia Ponte (near the Castello Aragonese), Sant'Angelo (a beautiful, car-free village), and Forio (a larger town with great beaches).
Travel Note
The best way to get around Ischia is generally by bus, taxi, or scooter rental. Ischia has an excellent public bus system (EAV Bus) that circumnavigates the entire island and is an easy and affordable way to travel between towns. Taxis are available at the port and around the main towns. While car rental is an option, it is generally not recommended for short stays in July due to heavy summer traffic. Furthermore, non-residents of Ischia Campania have restrictions on embarking vehicles on ferries during peak season so if you plan on booking a rental car make certain it is picked up on the island of Ischia and for driving the island only. There is ample parking at Villa Rosalia for our all our wedding guests but be sure to check parking availability with your accommodation for those who are not staying at the Villa. If you do choose to rent a car: There are local and international rental companies (like Avis, Europcar, Mazzella Rent) on the island, primarily around Ischia Porto. Given the narrow, winding roads, a small economy car like a Fiat 500 or Peugeot 107 is the most practical choice. Scooters/Mopeds: Renting a scooter is a popular and fun way to explore the island for those comfortable with two wheels!
