Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Maria Petro and Cameron Stuart
In June we got to spend 48 hours in Rovinj, visiting the venue and exploring the city. It was magical! These are the things we discovered and things that we want to do. We drove from Zagreb to Rovinj, in the dark , but disovered on our return that the drive was beautiful, especially once you reach the Istrian Peninsula. Istria spent 1,920 of the last 2,000 years under either Italian or Austro-Hungarian control. The area was the second largest olive oil producing region in Italy, and a critical part of the Roman Empire. It has now resumed olive oil production, and is a large wine producing region also. The hillsides are a rolling mass of agriculture, with dozens of wineries and farms you can visit within a 10 - 30 minute drive from Rovinj. Rovinj itself is beautiful, a preserved old town, maze of streets and alleys, filled with restaurants, hotels, and galleries. We're confident you'll have no trouble finding things to do, eating, drinking, or relaxing by the beaches.

Puntulina

38 Ulica Sv. Križa, Rovinj, Istarska županija 52210, Croatia

RESERVATION'S REQUIRED. This restaurant we stumbled across and were lucky enough to get a seat at lunchtime and were blown away! Inspired by the surroundings and culture of Rovinj, Puntulina, which opened in 2004, showcases the spirit of the Italian influences in the breathtaking coast overlooking the Adriatic Sea. Before 2004 Puntulina was the house of the Pellizzer family; not wanting to sell the house, Corrado Pellizzer and his sons, Nereo and Giovanni, came up with the idea of converting the old residence into a restaurant, third of the four restaurants owned in Rovinj (see Restaurant Giannino, Snack bar RIO and Restaurant El Bugadur). Located in the hearth of the old city, Puntulina’s vision is embracing the character of the picturesque scene with best local and fresh products served just few meters away from the water. The kitchen is a blend of Rovinj tradition and new trends in the way of preparing fresh, seasonal ingredients. Try their other Restaurants also
