Two days before Christmas, Leah and her mom were getting their nails done. They got on the conversation about Leah and Cameron getting engaged and her mom said, “When do you think it’s going to happen? He hasn’t talked to me or dad about it yet.” Cameron asking Leah’s parents was really important to her, so she was obviously thrown off and had no idea what was coming just days later. It was our first Christmas in our sweet little home and Leah woke up to numbered envelopes around the house. “Am I going on a scavenger hunt?” she asked Cameron. In her mind, she was thinking there would be plane tickets to Switzerland in the last envelope. Cameron was extra talkative that morning, but Leah just thought he was excited to spend the day opening gifts and seeing family. Inside the first envelope, there were pictures of their first trips together. A trip to Tennessee to explore waterfalls and downtown Nashville, Traverse City to winery hop, and Colorado to marvel at the beauty of the mountains. Cameron had written the most thoughtful note inside the card. “We begin with a trip down memory lane…” Each card had photos of their favorite memories together and beautifully written words of Cameron expressing his love for Leah. In the second to last card, there were photos of the two of them at all of the weddings they had been to together. The card said “Soon to be, The _______…” The final card was in the Christmas tree. When Leah opened it, it was a photo of her and Cameron at their dear friends’ wedding. Leah was holding a photo booth prop that said “I want to be next” Cameron had written “The time has come, let’s make you next!” on the back of the photo. When Leah turned around, Cam was down on one knee with her dream ring in the most beautiful white box. Leah’s engagement ring is actually called “The Leah.” It was the most perfect proposal - just the two of them, in their mismatched pajamas and unbrushed hair, with their dog Asher. The two spent the entirety of Christmas Day sharing their big news and joy with their family. It was truly a dream come true.
