Cameron and Kait share a love for many things, but for their story, they discovered two mutual passions that would help bring them together forever: a love for music and a love for football. Growing up in Springfield, OH, Cameron had a childhood that consisted of cheering for The Ohio State Buckeyes and singing classic acoustic guitar songs around a bonfire with close friends and family. Kait was born in Lexington, KY, but grew up in Charlotte, NC. Attending Carolina Panther’s games became a family tradition and, despite being born into a Kentucky Wildcat basketball family, she has always loved football. Both of them found their way to Charlotte after college - Kait after graduating from UNC Wilmington, then Cameron a few years later after graduating from Clemson (Go Tigers!). It was not long after he graduated that Cameron was invited out with some friends in Charlotte and ended up at Ri Ra’s Irish Pub in what Charlottean’s refer to as “Uptown.” This is where he met Kait, who was there to see her favorite local band- Heroes at Last. Shortly after they started talking at Ri Ra’s, Kait dropped a Remember the Titans quote, which turned out to be both of their favorite movies... and the exact moment Cam fell for his future wife. Beyond their mutual love for Remember the Titans, Kait and Cam soon realized how perfect they were for each other. What started as a few casual dates of getting to know each other quickly turned into deep conversations about their lives and futures together. From then you could say it was smooth sailing until Cameron finally popped the question... a question he knew he was going to ask years ago. Who knew that a simple “Left side! Strong side!” quote from Remember the Titans would be the start of a love story and an engagement nearly 4 years later? Although it may not be your traditional romantic film, thanks to a shared loved for football, it brought these two together and they are so excited to begin their lives together.
