After both living out of state for a few years, Cameron and Kailee found themselves back in the Central Valley in 2016; Kailee to pursue her PGY1 Pharmacy Residency program at Community Regional Medical Center, and Cameron to venture down a new career path working with his brother-in-law in construction and design. After meeting online and exchanging numbers, Cameron and Kailee had their first date at "I Love Sushi" in Clovis. After sharing life stories (including a couple of Youtube music videos from Cameron's rock band days), a few good laughs, and plenty of delicious sushi, Cameron and Kailee said their goodbyes and went all of 20 minutes before texting each other again. Three years later and after many more sushi dates, they've caught the love of their lives!
In celebration of Cameron's birthday, a fun day of wine tasting was planned in Paso Robles with his older sister Jessica and brother-in-law Scott. After arriving to Niner Winery about an hour and a half late after a traffic hick-up, they got right to the wine tasting. After about three samples, Cameron "accidentally" knocked an empty wine glass off the counter, causing it to shatter with a breathtaking crash. All eyes were on them. Cameron quickly got to clearing a space on the floor for his knee so he could propose. Kailee (slightly embarrassed by the whole scene), turned around to see Cameron cleaning up the glass and tried to convince him to stop, but soon realized Cameron was NOT holding a piece of shattered glass, but rather a gorgeous engagement ring. After some beautiful words and tears of happiness, Kailee said yes! After the proposal, the group enjoyed a delicious lunch by the fireside at Niner Winery and finished out the day with a Teppanyaki birthday/engagement dinner with Cameron's parents, Grandmother, sister and brother-in-law and Kailee's parents.
