They first met on a blind date at Pelican's snowball through a mutual friend. After a nail-biting match at corn hole, it became obvious Cameron and Ellie wanted to see more of each other. They had shared essential interests: the beach, pets, and Apollo's Chariot at Busch Gardens. Cameron took Ellie to her first formal with her sorority SAO where they danced and had a good time. From there, Cameron and Ellie's friendship grew to the point of being inseparable. Cameron came to Ellie's lacrosse game at CNU - despite her being a bench warmer due to an ankle sprain. Ellie gave him a tour of CNU afterward! Ellie did not realize Cameron had lived in Newport News his entire life and frequently biked through campus with his beloved fixed gear. Cameron was a great sport about it and did not say anything to her. Cameron and Ellie were so attached at the hip; people would often ask what Cameron was majoring in at CNU as they thought he was a student there. Cameron and Ellie pushed each other to be the best versions of themselves and brought out the good in each other. Whether it was cooking chicken fried rice together or going on adventures to see the President's Heads in Williamsburg, it became clear they were in it for the long haul. Ellie graduated from CNU and decided to attend nursing school not too long after. Cameron continued to work hard with his family's business while taking classes to work towards his Journeyman. Cameron and Ellie worked hard to achieve their goals, keeping in mind eventually they would be together at last. Long-distance was hard, but they got through it by traveling back and forth to see each other. Most often you will find Ellie and Cameron cooking together in the kitchen or on the beach at Fort Monroe! Collecting sea glass along the James is another one of their favorite pass times. They adopted their first pet together named Pickles and have another fur baby, Lillian, who adopted them! Cameron and Ellie live together in a cozy apartment in Suffolk, VA. Ellie works as an RN in the Emergency Department and Cameron works as an HVAC technician throughout Hampton Roads mostly commercially. Cameron and Ellie are so excited to share this day with you as it has been something they have been wanting for a long time!
Earlier in the year, Cameron had taken Ellie with him to pick out a ring together. Being as lowkey as they are, Cameron planned to take Ellie out to eat in order to pop the question. He had kept the ring in sight at his house, so Ellie observantly realized the ring was missing from the typical spot that particular night. Luckily, Ellie was prepped and ready because she had her nails painted. Cameron drove Ellie out to eat at their favorite waterfront restaurant in Virginia Beach called Waterman's. After eating some burgers and dessert (of course), Cameron paid for the check as the true gentleman he is and they left the restaurant- bellies full, with grins on their face. It was dark, but not too chilly despite it being February. Cameron lead Ellie onto the beach. They walked a bit and then the magical moment happened. He got down on one knee to propose. He made some sweet promises about their future, and of course Ellie said yes. It was the perfect proposal- private, romantic, and thoughtful.
