We initially met over something called Tinder (yes, I know... who knew that people actually could find someone on Tinder). I thought he seemed very normal among all the creeps. He had a good sense of humor, was outgoing, and had a hard time with Utah drivers so obviously we really hit it off. Our first date was at a Mexican food restaurant called La Hacienda in Draper, Utah. He was so fun to talk with and I loved his southern drawl. He was a true gentlemen. We started riding bikes together, and I just loved spending time with him. Fast forward 8 months later and we are truly best friends. He is so kind, thoughtful, and so fun! We just love spending time with each other. He is truly my best friend and I am so grateful to have him. He makes me laugh and smile everyday.
His goal was to surprise me so throughout the week he kept throwing me off. He knew that I was very difficult to surprise because I always figured out every surprise. It was a Saturday and I felt pretty confident that he was going to ask me while we were snow shoeing. I got my nails done that morning (had to make sure my hands were prepped for a ring) and then did my makeup and hair. Cameron kept asking why I was getting all done up.. of course I was thinking well, obviously you are going to ask me to marry you today. I messed up the schedule because I ended up watching the Marie Kondo show on Netflix and had to refold all my clothes which put me behind on the proposal schedule. When we got up to the mountains to snow shoe Cameron knew he had to speed up the time so he took me on a path with very deep snow, which wore me out. Afterwards he said he wanted to take me to see this dog movie called, "A Dogs Way Home" (which I had been wanting to see). On the way home I started getting a headache. I said, "let's not go to the movie. Let's stay at home instead". He later told me that he had already bought tickets and asked if that was okay and if I still wanted to go. I said yes, and got ready to go out. I was wearing very casual clothes (sweatpants) because I did not think anything was happening that night and especially at the movies. At one point during the movie Cameron's hand was sweating like crazy. I said, "what is happening with you". He shrugged and said the movie theater was hot. After the movie was over he insisted we stay until after the credits because there could be a surprise ending.....right.. After the movie the lights came on and I was ready to go. Cameron then proceeded to fake a stomach injury. I saw out of the corner of my eye all of these people carrying balloons. Then I realized I knew many of these people. I looked at Cameron confused. Then he got down on his knee and proposed. It was a total surprise and it was perfect.
