It's been a helluva year, and while we know the timing of our wedding might be tricky, we are so excited to celebrate with all of you!
Barbara and Cam have a few "first" meetings. Some would say it was in a midday haze at Coachella in 2011. Others might remember Cam's frequent visits to San Francisco to stay with Barbara's roommate. But they tend to keep it simple and tell folks that they became friends after Barbara moved to New York in 2015. Cam was conveniently one of the only people Barbara knew on the East Coast, so the friendship blossomed quickly. In February 2016, the flirtatious friendship transitioned to courtship. One night while they were out dancing with friends, Barbara claims Cam came at her "lips first," but Cam swears that Barbara made the first move with her alluring dance steps. Either way, the first kiss didn't land. About a week later, and prior to a first kiss, they both agreed that they would only sacrifice their friendship if they dated for "a really long time". A few days later Cam showed up at Barbara's apartment wearing a suit and holding flowers in one hand and ready to hold Barbara's hand with the other.
We know that planning a wedding during a global pandemic complicates things for everyone, so we want to let you know that we are taking necessary precautions to ensure that we can all be safe and have fun together! First and foremost, if you do not feel comfortable being in a large group, please stay home. While we will miss you we will not hold it against you. For those that choose to come: the wedding will be held entirely outdoors and we will respond to the severity of the pandemic in the month leading up to the wedding. Safeguards might include requiring masks and social bubble seating arrangements. Please let us know if you have any specific questions, concerns, or ideas!
