...we met at work. We hit it off right off the bat as friends, & remained good friends for the next year - sharing rides and having carpool karaoke when we went out with coworkers, complaining about dating and giving each other advice as we dated other people, and without fail, always finding things to give each other crap about that also always ended up in fits of laughter. Apparently, mutual interest already existed on both sides. Cam had expressed his interest to one of our mutual friends, who told him he didn't stand a chance with me. I had done the same at a different time to a different friend but was too nervous to pursue it because I didn't want to date someone I worked with or ruin our friendship. And then one night right around Halloween, we were out at the pub we all frequented for any sort of work celebration - birthdays, going away parties, Sunday nights, etc. After one too many margaritas to make it wise to drive home, Cam & I decided to share an Uber home. As it was dropping me off in front of my parent's house, we both got out of the car to hug goodbye. And as he tells it, tequila apparently fueled me to throw my face at his face. Best idea tequila ever gave me. We both knew pretty immediately that we'd set something special in motion. Almost immediately after we parted ways that night, he called two of his now-groomsmen, and I called two of my now-bridesmaids, both of us essentially to say "Guess who I just kissed." Two weeks later, we went on our first date. Three months after that, we were planning a month long international trip together. And then about ten months later, we had moved in together. At the beginning of lockdown last year, we started talking marriage and rings, and just before we hit two years together, Cam proposed. And now here we are! We can't wait to celebrate our wedding, and toast to our marriage with the spirit that started all, with all of you!
