In January of 2022, Tanya posted something that caught Cameron’s eye, and with a bold DM and a quick ask for her Snapchat, a spark was lit. Eventually, Cameron decided it was time to take things off the screen and into real life. He asked Tanya out on a date to Maxwell’s rooftop, a night filled with great conversation and a little serendipity. As they talked about family, it turned out Cameron already knew nearly everyone in Tanya’s life—except her mom and her Michigan aunt. Even crazier? One of Tanya’s aunts once dated Cameron’s uncle. Small world! Tanya kept their growing connection a sweet little secret—until Christmas of 2022. When her mom asked about Cameron, the truth came tumbling out… and then got lovingly spilled to the entire family on Christmas Day. Luckily, everyone already adored Cameron. He was welcomed with open arms, and it didn’t take long before he started becoming a part of all their lives. Just a month into dating, Tanya experienced the heartbreaking loss of her grandmother. Through that grief, Cameron showed up in every way, helping hold Tanya together with love, patience, and support. Fast forward to June 2024, their very first trip together—destination: Michigan. On a sunny Sunday, they explored the charm of Mackinac Island with Tanya’s cousin Bridget and Aunt Angie. Horse-drawn carriages, legends of the island, and history all around… and then, at the far end of the island, with the lake as their witness, Cameron got down on one knee and asked Tanya to be his forever.
